Integrity Guided. Creativity Driven. Innovation Realized.

No one in our community goes to bed hungry. We are committed to providing a reliable food source to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Through our co-operated community food pantry, we aim to alleviate hunger and restore dignity to those in need, helping them to thrive with the nourishment and support they deserve.

In these challenging times, we understand that food insecurity affects people from all walks of life—families with children, older people, veterans, and individuals facing unexpected hardships.

Our goal is simple: to ensure everyone can access healthy, nutritious food, regardless of circumstances.

No one in our community should struggle to access the essential health items that support their wellbeing. We are committed to reducing basic-needs inequity by bringing affordable, everyday pharmacy products directly into the neighborhoods that need them most. Through our pharmaceutical vending machine model, we aim to remove long-standing barriers to care, offering people the dignity of reliable, stigma-free access to the resources they deserve.

Our goal is simple: To ensure that every person—regardless of where they live, their income, or their circumstances—has access to the tools, protections, and supports that help them stay healthy, informed, and safe.

Our Work

Through our comprehensive programs, we have expanded services:

Conference Appearances

The Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) Annual Conference brings together regional leaders, expert panels with data-driven presentations, and community organizations committed to sharing emerging trends in problem gambling behaviors and prevention strategies.  Attendees gain insight into best practices, innovative outreach models, and policy developments shaping the field. The LPC was honored to be invited as a 2025 panelist to share our frontline insights.

Problem Gambling Assistance/Prevention

A 2019 study published by the National Institute of Health reported a 10% prevalence of Gambling Disorders in older adults over the age of 50. Educational workshops and support groups are offered as part of programming for seniors to address the habitual circumstances that feed into Problem Gambling creating a roadmap to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Changing the Landscape

Advocacy work is central to our commitment to preventing early-stage gambling harm and promoting transparent, consumer-protective digital gaming practices. Our emerging 2025–2026 policy agenda focuses on unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults by addressing identity verification loopholes in mobile gaming apps that encourage underaged gambling and unregulated bank transfers.

Social Connection

We combat the growing issue of social isolation in older adults by offering group activities, social events, and companionship programs. These initiatives create opportunities for seniors to connect with others, form meaningful friendships, and feel part of a vibrant community.

Health & Wellness Programs

Our wellness initiatives promote physical and mental well-being by offering technology navigation workshops, genetic counseling for chronic illness, nutrition education, and emotional support for seniors dealing with grief.

Why It Matters

Seniors are frequently an overlooked population of aging citizens with limited resources who typically aren't prioritized by other organizations or focus groups. The aging population faces unique challenges that can often be overwhelming and isolating. Issues like mobility limitations, chronic health conditions, fiscal strain, and loneliness can affect the quality of life and mental health.

Our problem-gambling prevention work tackles the growing risks of underage gambling and the financial instability caused by addictive mobile gaming patterns that hook young people while they are most impressionable. By advancing stronger safeguards we are helping to protect youth and prevent early-stage gambling harm.
